The background…

After getting my master’s in art therapy, I had the privilege of working with hundreds, even thousands of professionals who wanted to learn more about art therapy and learn how to incorporate therapeutic art approaches in their disciplines and explore therapeutic art-based work. So many were asking me about HOW to actually do it. That is why I distilled all my art therapy knowledge & training into this course for all types of professionals who want to safely incorporate therapeutic art into their work and are just beginning to do this.

This course is for:

  • Facilitators

  • Coaches

  • Therapists, sw, counselors

  • Teachers

  • Artists,

  • and any professional who would like to incorporate art

You don’t need to know everything.
You don’t need to be certified in everything.
And you definitely don’t need to feel like an “expert.”

You just need a solid framework — one that teaches you how to hold space, ask the right prompts, and facilitate creativity in a safe and meaningful way.
That’s exactly what you’ll learn inside the Therapeutic Art Facilitation School!

The TAFS course teaches you:

  • What to do in the beginning, middle, and end of 1:1 online sessions

  • What art materials to choose (not all materials are created the same!)

  • How to lead conversations to dive deeper into the art with clients

  • How to introduce and facilitate the art-making

  • How to handle bumps in the road when clients are stuck / having challenges

  • Handling boundaries, ethics, and staying within scope of work

  • A demo of an online 1:1 session

  • and more

More questions about the course…

  • Wonderful question! Here’s how:
    1. A real, registered art therapist created it
    - someone who has years of clinical art therapy and non-clinical (therapeutic art) work experience, plus experience ONLINE. There are SO MANY courses out there that is NOT created by an actual art therapist, which is unfortunate.

    2. I go straight to the point. I don't make 87 lessons just because. I don't believe in making as much number of lessons just for the sake of it. I put the most golden, distilled information you actually need in each lesson. I like going straight to the point and not waste your time ;)

    3. I simplify everything, so that even if you're a beginner in therapeutic art, you can really get it. I don't use abstract, esoteric language to sound smart nor ONLY to speak to psychotherapy professionals. I know my students come with so many diverse backgrounds and I keep it real, simple, & easy to grasp. I keep it down to earth. That's why once you learn what I teach in here, you'll be ready to start working. (And I cannot say that for sure for the other courses out there).

    4. I actually show you a demonstration of how I do this work. THAT is gold. I've never seen NOR heard anyone who does that. (I only saw this ONCE in my graduate program and even then it was an old video, and as you know, that grad program requires exorbitant amounts of money just for you to attend, lol). That's why this course is pretty much worth 10x more than its price.

  • YES! This course is designed for those who don't have any prior knowledge in therapeutic art facilitation. You don't need to have taken any type of prerequisites or other courses or have any prior experiences. You don't need to be a therapist or a coach. Nor a professional artist. You just need to have made art before (that's probably a given) and have a passion for helping others.

  • No. You don't learn "art therapy" because that requires a much deeper and wider scope of teaching, and may take years.

However, what you do learn is how to facilitate 1:1 art-making sessions that allow the client to be expressive and allow the process to be therapeutic (i.e., stress-relieving, uplifting, positive, etc.)

It is not Psychotherapy (and you're not going to learn that) which is meant to treat mental disorders.

  • No. This course does not grant you authority or permission to call yourself an art therapist, because it does not teach you how to provide art therapy, which is psychotherapy and is often meant to treat mental disorders.

Each country and provide/state has different definitions and regulations regarding art therapy and art therapists. Please consult your local laws for guidance on the legalities around calling yourself an art therapist or calling your work art therapy.
